Lebanon Catholic School

Office of the Principal

August 28, 2008

Dear Parents (Guardians),

Per a change to state regulations regarding the administration of medication in schools, the Diocese of Harrisburg has mandated that the enclosed forms must be completed for each student for the administration of nonprescription and/or prescription medication. These forms will be retained in each student’s medical file. Please note that a physician’s order must accompany the parent’s authorization for prescription medications. The directions on the medication container are not sufficient.

For those families that have more than one child attending Lebanon Catholic, you can download additional copies off of our school’s website.

Please return forms to the school no later than September 5, 2008.

I thank you for your cooperation regarding this matter.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Michele Ambrosia,

Principal

August 2008

Dear Parents,

I hope that you and your children are experiencing a restful summer. Here at Lebanon Catholic School, we are gearing up for another exciting new school year!

Included in this mailing is a myriad of information, including our school calendar, yearly diocesan calendar, agendas for our “Back to School” Nights, diagram of traffic patterns, supply lists for new students, application for “reduced lunch program,” list of fundraising events, lunch menus for August and September, etc. that will hopefully allow you to be prepared and informed about events during this coming school year. Parent/Student Handbooks will be distributed at our open houses on August 19 and 20, 2008. It is very important that you take the time to review the contents (there are some changes and additions) with your child(ren), sign the form, and return it to school as soon as possible. A separate form is required for each student.

Also please take a look over the calendar so that you are aware of upcoming events. Included in October is a parent/student workshop on “Math Facts.” More information will be given at the open houses.

Again, the safety of our students is of great concern. Therefore, please follow procedures that are set in place. Except for appointments scheduled during the school day, all students (regardless of age) who are transported by car are to be dropped off and picked up in the rear of the building in car line.

The 2008-2009 school year will officially begin on Monday, August 25, 2008 for students in grades four through eight. Students in grades kindergarten through three and nine through twelve will report for their first day of classes on Tuesday, August 26, 2008. All students in grades K through 12 will report for the remainder of the week. Students are to be in proper uniform beginning with their first day of classes.

Our pre-kindergarten students will begin their school year on Tuesday, September 2, 2008.

“So let us accept what the new year brings; seeing the hand of God in all things.”

Helen Steiner Rice

Sincerely,

Mrs. Michele Ambrosia,

Principal
