The following screenings are requirements of the School Health Act of Pennsylvania:

 

Height,Weight, & Vision screening--------All grades yearly.

Hearing screening--------------------------K4, K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th and 11th grades.

Dental Exam--------------------------------K4, K, 3, and 7th grades.

Physical Exam------------------------------K4, K, 6th and 11th grades.

Immunization Requirements;

( All children must have the following on entering school for the first time.)

 

3 or more doses of oral polio vaccine.

4 doses of tetanus, diphtheria toxoid ( 5th dose if the 4th dose was given before the 4 th birthday.)

2 doses of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella ) 1 st dose given on or after the 1 st birthday. )

3 doses of hepatitis B vaccine. (the 1 st and 2 nd dose must be 28 days apart. The 1 st and 3 rd dose must be at least 6 months apart if the 1 st dose was given at birth.

Proof of varicella vaccination or proof of disease.

 

 

A Reminder:

The school nurse makes the home phone calls when she receives the absentee list.

Students not reporting to homeroom in the morning are on the absentee list.

Students arriving late must sign in at the office.

Students are not expected to go to an activity before home-room .

Illness—Doctors certificate

Absence from school due to illness for three days requires a doctors certificate.
