FACULTY AND STAFF
Funeral Mass was held for The Rev. Paul Rindos at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church in Elysburg. Father Rindos had been the principal at Lebanon Catholic High School from 1969 to 1972. At the time, LC enrollment was near 700. He died on November 21, 2011 of congestive heart failure at the age of 77.

James (Jim) Checket lived, slept, and ate music. He was the music teacher at Lebanon Catholic in the 1970's. Even after he retired, he kept his hand in the music field and was involved in Lebanon's Big Swing Band. James died on September 11, 2011.

On May 14, 2011, The Rev. Richard P. Waldron passed away. Father Waldron had served as principal at Lebanon Catholic High School for a mere two years, from 1969 to 1971, but he will be remembered by alumni as a lively man. Father was often referred to as "The Man from Glad" for his signature silver hair. Father always had a smile for everyone.

On February 14, 2011, Lebanon Catholic lost one of its former principals when The Rev. Brian Conrad passed away. Father Conrad first stepped into Lebanon Catholic's halls in July of 1983 and stayed until 1986. He served as a temporary pastor at what was then St. Gregory's simultaneously with his role as principal. Father left a calming presence in the school. He led with a gentle hand.

Catherine (Cass) Deitz passed away on June 7, 2010. Cass had given 28 years of service as a maintenance worker to Lebanon Catholic back in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. The display case windows glistened when Cass was on the job. Her work at keeping Lebanon Catholic sparkling and sharp-looking to all who entered the building was appreciated back then. So also was her ubiquitous smile that brought peace to all who talked to her.

Alumni who spent any of the years between 1986 and 1996 at Lebanon Catholic might be saddened to hear that their former principal, the Rev. Philip DeChico, M. Div., passed away on February 25, 2006. He was only 57 years old. Under Father DeChico’s administration, the 7 th and 8 th grades were brought up to the high school thus instituting a junior high school on the hill, uniforms were introduced, and a six day cycle of class days was initiated (the latter of which no longer exists).
The school is sorry to report the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Sheetz in 2004 . Many alumnae will remember Mrs. Sheetz as their gym teacher. She was a tiny lady with a lot of stamina. |
