Friday, June 2nd marked the 25th year for the Rosemary Sonni Walsh Memorial Golf Tournament at the beautiful Lebanon Country Club.
The annual golf tournament is an 18-hole competitive golf event for players of all skill levels and is the principle fund-raising activity which supports the Annual Rosemary Sonni Walsh Scholarship Program. Many participants return year after year to contribute to this worthwhile cause of providing tuition grants to deserving students who wish to attend Lebanon Catholic School.
Before her unexpected death in 1991, Rosemary often lamented that Catholic education was becoming cost prohibitive for some families. Because of her spirit and the generosity of all those who have supported an annual golf tournament in Rosemary’s name, Lebanon Catholic School has been able to distribute close to $450,000 in scholarship assistance since 1992 so many more families can afford a Catholic education here on Assumption Hill. Many students have benefited greatly from “Rose Grants.” The fruits of this tournament are being realized through the hundreds of students whose lives have been touched by the generosity of its supporters.
In her lifetime, Rosemary Sonni Walsh recognized the value of a Catholic education. She laid the groundwork to assure any child wanting this education would find the support necessary to secure it. God’s blessing, coupled with your generosity will guarantee a successful tournament and continue Rosemary’s mission to make Catholic education available to all children. Your involvement will make this year’s event an extra special celebration. The part you play in a child’s education at Lebanon Catholic School will shine as an example of living what you learn. Whether you golf, sponsor a hole, come for dinner, or make a donation, your participation is significant to achieving this goal.
