Friday, June 2nd marks the 25th year for the Rosemary Sonni Walsh Memorial Golf Tournament at the beautiful Lebanon Country Club.
The annual golf tournament is an 18-hole competitive golf event for players of all skill levels and is the principle fund-raising activity which supports the Annual Rosemary Sonni Walsh Scholarship Program. Many participants return year after year to contribute to this worthwhile cause of providing tuition grants to deserving students who wish to attend Lebanon Catholic School.
The cost is $150 per player or $600 per team. The entry fee includes cart, food, beverages and a commemorative gift. The day begins with registration at 11:00 a.m. and after sign-in, golfers will enjoy a delicious lunch buffet on the picturesque patio overlooking the course until the 1:00 p.m. shotgun start. Play is in a scramble format and for golfers, who really like to put their money where their mouth is, more contests in store for 2017 than ever before. At day’s end, golfers relax and enjoy the dinner buffet in the club house.
If you don’t make a day of it on the greens, you are welcome to join us for dinner. You can attend on your own or as a guest of a player for dinner only. Dinner starts at 6:00 p.m. in the club house. Dinner is $60.00 per person
Before her unexpected death in 1991, Rosemary often lamented that Catholic education was becoming cost prohibitive for some families. Because of her spirit and the generosity of all those who have supported an annual golf tournament in Rosemary’s name, Lebanon Catholic School has been able to distribute close to $450,000 in scholarship assistance since 1992 so many more families can afford a Catholic education here on Assumption Hill. Many students have benefitted greatly from “Rose Grants.” The fruits of this tournament are being realized through the hundreds of students whose lives have been touched by the generosity of its supporters.
In her lifetime, Rosemary Sonni Walsh recognized the value of a Catholic education. She laid the groundwork to assure any child wanting this education would find the support necessary to secure it. God’s blessing, coupled with your generosity will guarantee a successful tournament and continue Rosemary’s mission to make Catholic education available to all children. Your involvement will make this year’s event an extra special celebration. The part you play in a child’s education at Lebanon Catholic School will shine as an example of living what you learn. Whether you golf, sponsor a hole, come for dinner, or make a donation, your participation is significant to achieving this goal.
