Tenie Holmes Elementary
Kindergarten 22 Students
Bay City, TX

Tenie Holmes Elementary was built in 1952.  In 2000, a new wing was built to meet the necessary needs of restructuring our school district.
Pre-K, Kindergarten, and some first grade classes occupy the new wing.  There are 570 students in our school.  We have five grades at our school, Pre-K through 3rd.  Most of our students get to school by bus.  There are 22 students in our classroom, 11 boys and 11 girls.

Wandering Wally arrived at our school just as we were about to take our Christmas picture for our classroom website.  As soon as we dressed him in the proper Texas attire, we asked him to join us.  Since it was Wednesday, we had Guidance and he went with us.  He couldn't wait to get to the cafeteria.  He said it was a long way from PA and Wally was very hungry.  He cleaned up all our crumbs off the cafeteria floor.  He rested most of the afternoon.  As we were saying goodbye at the end of the day, Wally had found some new friends in our science center.
He said he would be OK until tomorrow.

Wally was so excited that he got to ride a school bus today.  Mrs. Pohlmeyer's class took a field trip to the Matagorda County Museum.  While we were there, we saw the Annual Festival of Trees with 54 trees decorated by various school groups, churches, civic clubs, and local businesses.  We also had lots of fun in the Children's Museum.
