Wandering Wally came to Magnolia Elementary School to visit Mrs. Satcher's Kindergarten class. We were so excited to meet Wally and read about his adventures! We have been practicing for our PTO program and have learned some facts about ants. We even had Wally tell us how much he enjoys being an ant and why he likes being an ant. We found out that Wally is very strong and can carry 50 times his own weight! If we were as strong as Wally, we could lift a car.
We also got to crawl through an "ant tunnel" to see what it's like underground. It was hard to crawl through the tunnel with pretend food. Now that we know how much work is put into building an ant city, we have decided not to knock ant hills down anymore. We also don't want to knock the ant hill down because the ants are so small the only way they can let us know we are hurting them is by stinging us-OUCH!
We were sad when Wally had to leave, but we knew we would be able to watch him on the computer website. Safe travels Wally:) Love, Mrs. Satcher's Kindergarten Class
Magnolia used to be a logging community. We also have old Train Depot in the middle of town that people can tour. We have the red caboose to go with it. The Renaissance Festival takes place 3 miles from here during Oct. and Nov. of every year and we have to have policepeople direct the "traffic jam".
